About European Industrial Doctorates (EID)
European Industrial Doctorates (EID) is a sub section of the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN). EIDs fund doctoral training networks in which the non-academic sector plays a major role in training activities. The objective is to get the non-academic sector involved in doctoral training. The Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) trained in an EID will spend at least 50% of their time in the project at a non-academic institution and will be supervised by both academic and non-academic supervisors. The ESRs trained in the STACCATO EID will be enroled in a structured PhD programme at one of our academic partners and have a team of supervisors from their host institution, their PhD programme and the place of their secondment.
